As an HSC German tutor and IB German tutor, I work with all kinds of students. Many are already doing well and aiming for the top band, and they want expert feedback, polished writing and confident speaking to get there. Others have a teacher who simply doesn’t have time for individual feedback in a busy class. And some feel lost because the class moves too fast. Whatever the starting point, the goal is the same: the best result each student is capable of.
I have tutored students through HSC, IB, VCE and QCE, and I know exactly what examiners reward and where marks are lost. I don’t just help students get the marks. I help them truly understand the language, so the marks follow.

As an IB German tutor, I work with Diploma students in Australia and around the world. Lessons follow the IB course and cover Paper 1 writing, Paper 2 reading and listening, and the Individual Oral, at all three levels: ab initio, SL and HL.

Choosing an HSC German tutor: good to know
When should we start?
Ideally at the start of Year 11 or the first year of the IB Diploma, so there’s time to close gaps before the exam pressure builds. But it’s never too late — I also help students with short-notice preparation before trials and final exams.
How often are lessons?
Most students have one 60-minute lesson a week, and some choose two lessons a week at a discounted rate. In the two months before exams, most students add extra sessions to prepare for trials, orals and final exams.
Do you teach all HSC German courses?
Yes — Beginners, Continuers and Extension. Many of my Continuers students also take Extension, and we plan lessons so both courses support each other.
Can you help with the IB Individual Oral?
Yes — it’s one of my specialities. We practise with visual stimuli and follow-up questions in lessons, and students can also use my self-paced IB German B Oral course between lessons.
We live overseas. Can my child still have lessons?
Of course. All lessons are online via Microsoft Teams, and I teach students all around the world. We simply find a time that works across time zones.
